Feature Friday: Chocolate Soap by Soaping 101

(reposting, something went screwy with my last few posts.  Just in case you missed my Ginger Dextox Scrub bar post, you can find it here)

Hey Love Buds!

Today's Friday and it's time for another feature video.  This week's tidbit is from Soaping 101.

The soap created in this video is made from chocolate!  Yes, real chocolate, chocolate soap.  I...I just don't need to say anything more because - chocolate.  Check it out:

Now what could be better than bathing in actual chocolate?  I know it will take a minute to respond to that.

What other foods do you like in your soap?  I really want to know, especially now that I am making soap.  Speaking of, today will be awesome because I will receive #bubblelove packages from Petals Bath Boutique, Alamo Candeleria and I think one other soapmaker, plus I'll be binging on "Orange is the New Black".  But this weekend, I'll be making more soap and working on my July DIY challenge project.  AND next week, I'll have an update for you on my soaping adventures.  Great things will be happening this weekend.  Stay tuned for what's coming!

Peace, Love & Loads of chocolately good BUBBLES!

Feature Friday: Spicy Pinecone Gradient Tilted Tiger Stripe Soap

Cold Process Gradient Soap

Hello Love Buds!

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know that last weekend, I attempted to create a cold process soap.  The first for me in over six years.  I purchased items from a Brambleberry soap kit to make this cute and simple blueberry soap.

What I created was a seafoam green brick.  So I decided to up the anti and even though I haven't mastered this simple soap, I decided to do some research and attempt this gorgeously understated design shown by Sarah, owner of Spicy Pinecone.  Check out her sweet nothings soap in this video:

Sarah makes this look really simple and easy.  If I had more sense, I would just try to follow her video to create a simply gorgeous soap, but I will be trying a bit of a twist on this.  We shall see how it works out this weekend...

That's all for now!  Oh, don't forget the giveaway for a Petals Bath Boutique soap I'm doing, you still have time to enter.

Until next time ~
Peace, Love & Loads of actual soap, not green brick Bubbles!

Feature Friday: Hot Process Flowers in Bloom

Hi Love Buds!

I know it's not Friday, but for me, it's like Friday since I don't have to work for the rest of the week, sooooo, the Friday Feature is happening on Wednesday!

I recently visited with my Sista in Suds, Kia of +Petals Bath Boutique and she was really excited about a new hot process soaping method that has recently been introduced by Sharon Johnson of Rose of Sharon Essentials Skin Care.  Ms. Johnson has formulated a way of preparing hot process soap that takes only about 10 minutes and produces a more fluid soap batter, allowing soapmakers a medium capable of creating more intricate swirls and designs than standard hot process soap.

I previously featured the Thorns & Roses soap video by Soapish and it just so happens that this very video inspired Sharon to create a similar soap using her new hot process soaping method.  Today's feature is Sharon Johnson's video creating the Flowers in Bloom design.

How gorgeous is this????  If you're interested to learn more about Ms. Johnson's method, she does have an E-book available on the full process (linked in the YouTube video).

That's it for me, for now.  Until next time,

Peace, Love & Lots of pink petaled bubbles!

Feature Friday: Hejin Body Works

hejin.life

Love Buds,

This is long overdue.  This past summer, I traveled to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and visited the cutest darn soap shop with a piggie mascot on the face of this planet!

Hejin Body Works is an awesome soap company owned by Christina & Matt. They started selling soap about three years ago.  In the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, the couple began to take note of the ingredients and prices of commercial bath and body products.  The crazy names of the stuff in these items coupled with the outrageous prices spurned Matt & Christina into action.  All of those products looked so clinical and serious.  What fun was there in that?  With those thoughts in mind, Hejin Body Works was born with its owners striving to be the "Ben & Jerry's of the Natural Bath & Body world".

The smell of the shop was so amazing and shout out to Melissa!  She was an awesome host in Matt & Christina's absence.  The only thing more awesome than the quality of the products I picked up has to be the price.  Each 4 oz bar of soap is only $3.99!  You can't beat that with a stick, and why would you? LOL.

Now for the sad news... Due to some medical issues, Matt & Christina will not be able to operate Hejin Body Works for much longer.  They are looking into options including turning the company over to new ownership.  I wish them all the best, my interactions with them have always left me with a smile.

This means don't delay!  Head on over to hejin.life (yes, that's the website), and grab tons of goodies.  At these prices, it's like Black Friday prices all the time!

Share your haul with me on Facebook or Instagram and hastag it #4theloveofbubbles #hejinhijinks

Until Next time~

Peace, Love & Loads of piggy pink bubbles!

Feature Friday: Thorns & Roses Soap

Hey Love Buds!

It's time for another Friday Youtube Feature.  Today, I want to share another beautiful floral soap design by Soapish.  She uses an interesting technique to keep the colors separate and then creates some beautiful swirl patterns.

I truly appreciate that her videos don't have a ton of overpowering background sound and that it is detailed enough so that you know how and why she's doing what she's doing but short enough not to be a full length feature film.  Great Job, Soapish!

Friday Feature: DIY Shaving Cream

Hey Love Buds!

Some of you have requested more recipes from me, so this one is for you!

I saw this simple little lovely by Top Knot on Facebook.  A simple, easy, shaving cream!

DIY All Natural Shaving Cream
Posted by Top Knot on Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Seems like it would be great with a bit of lavender essential oil combined with some citrus.  What do you think?  Let me know how this one works out for you and what fragrance (if any) you chose!

That's it for now Love Buds, but in the meantime, have you signed up for my social media fan appreciation giveaway?  Just a few more likes on the Facebook page and I'll be selecting the winners and then, I've got another giveaway line up right after that one...just for the ladies!

Feature Friday: Moroccan Mint Tea Soap

*EDIT: This was incorrectly scheduled while trying out a new automatic posting system.  Won't be using that anymore, so here it is if you missed the first time...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Handmade in Florida makes some of the most beautiful soap I've seen.  Zahida put extra love into each and every bar.

In this video, she creates "Moroccan Mint Tea" a beautiful minty tea blend that I decided not to purchase during the last release but Zahida included a sample with my order.  I was instantly sad that I did not purchase a full bar.  During Handmade in Florida releases, the inventory sells out in MINUTES, so there was no going back to grab a bar, but the very next time she offers it, I'll be snatching up a few.

Zahida has leaked on Facebook that there will be an October release from Handmade in Florida.  Keep an eye out and get there early or you'll miss out on these gorgeous handmade gems.

Peace, Love & Loads of Bubbles!

Feature Friday: Lavender Cold Process Soap

Hey Love Buds!

It's Feature Friday and today we look back at a soap offered by Petals Bath Boutique a few years ago called "Serenity Falls", which is a lavender scent.  In this video, Kia demonstrates a Taiwan swirl, which I think is gorgeous, and she does it in under 15 minutes! LOL

This soap is gorgeous in its complex simplicity and lavender is a favorite fragrance of mine.  What do you think about this one?  Should Kia bring it back?

Don't miss the autumn release from Petals Bath Boutique, it's TODAY at 6:30 EST!

Friday Feature: Flower in Soap

Hey Love Buds!  I've decided that on Fridays I will post a Friday Feature from YouTube.  Sometimes, it will be a video of my own creation but sometimes I will share a video that I enjoyed... Sooooo on with the show!

This Friday I am featuring a video I found on YouTube created by lucie3232.  Lucie3232 is a french soap maker who in this video creates a beautiful floral work of art in a black soap base.

Lucie3232 creates beautiful works of art on her channel, which you should definitely check out. I really love that her videos are beautifully shot and are cute and concise.

Tell me what you think!

Until next time,

Peace, Love & Loads of Bubbles
